flat sling back

I attend a school in LA and flip flops are an extremely popular mode of shoe wear but lately I've been getting bored of them. Most people wear them everyday, yet they lack creativity and there are not enough cute variations. So I've been on the hunt to find an alternative type of shoe as equally comfortable as the flip flop. I wear flip flops very frequently for the comfort factor and the ease of walking in them for the 20 minutes walks to my next class. I checked out Target's shoe department hoping to find cute, cheap heels I could wear to parties. Instead, I realized that flat sling backs would be a perfect alternative to the flip flop because they do not consist of a large heel which makes it easy to walk in. I bought a pair of red ones and I've been wearing them to and from class ever since. The ones I bought are uber comfortable, cute, and chic all at the same time. I used to believe these shoes were only formy middle aged mother would wear but now I love them. Here's the shoe I bought at target. It's very simple and can go with many outfits:

The Color Grey

I recently was given an idea. I love most things from the '80s (mullets are excluded), especially the bright blend of colors. Some call the '80s tacky but I call those fashion years fun and adventurous. In Lucky magazine's March told their readers how to mix bright colors together without looking like a clown and make the end result look fabulous. They suggest wearing the color grey along with the bright colors in order to neutralize the craziness of it all. I love that thought since black bores me and white gets dirty way too easily. Basically grey is a great alternative. The latest trend in skinny jeans are grey skinny jeans. Why not add those with a royal blue tee shirt and red flats? Grey clothing staples would be able to fit in with other pieces easily.
